NQA Foodbank, which is based at Pathfinder House, in Darlington, is holding the Raise Your Game event this weekend.

It takes place in the Northgate venue from 2pm to 10pm on Sunday.

Darlington Gaming Club, Dementia Friendly Darlington and Dementia UK are working with the foodbank to put on the event.

They are hoping to raise awareness about dementia, how it affects people and what can be done to help people living with it.

A range of games will be available to play, from chess to Dungeons and Dragons, Jenga and Talisman.

Kathryn Hardwick, a dementia adviser and Belinda Williams, Alzheimer’s Society dementia friendly community coordinator for Darlington will be at Pathfinder House on Sunday afternoon with information, advice, and a short presentation about Darlington’s Dementia Adviser Services and how members of the community can help.

The event will also raise money for Dementia UK.
