LITTLE MONSTERS are invited to get into the spooky spirit this year, thanks to a frightful family event in the North East.
Halloween fans of all ages can don their best costumes for the return of the Family Fright Fest on October 30 and 31, at Lintz Hall Farm, at Burnopfield, County Durham.
And along with a whole host of prizes for the best dressed, little ones can also make the most of street theatre, fairground rides and more.
Budding witches and wizards can learn a thing or two at the Harry Potter-inspired Wizard School in the giant tipi and a number of spooky characters will be on hand to entertain visitors around the site.
The fun and games barn will be home to a variety of activities, and little ones can also make their way through a family-friendly version of the iScream maze.
A series of stage shows will be entertaining children of all ages throughout the day in the main barn, including a Superhero Spectacular, Frozen Halloween Panto and a spooky Fright Fest’s Got Talent.

The main barn will also be home to a huge food and drink village – with local vendors including Hatch 76, Acropolis, Parm-O-Rama, Frosty’s Fish and Chips and The Greedy Goose Pizzeria.
Elsewhere on the site, little ones can take a ride on the Thomas the Tank Engine road train for £1 per person and make the most of a number of interactive photo opportunities.
Every child can pick out a free pumpkin to carve at home from a giant pumpkin patch, before joining a whole host of characters for the End of Day Parade across the site.
Nigel Holliday of 700 Acres, which organises the Family Fright Fest with Metro Radio, believes the event has something for everyone.
“We’re delighted to be in a position where we can organise events like this again, so we’ve gone all out this year to give families something to look forward to,” he said.
“We’ve planned a wide range of activities across the site so there’s something for even the youngest of Halloween fans to take part in and our daily prizes are a great excuse for the whole family to dress up.”
Tickets for the Family Fright Fest are priced at £12 for adults and £8.50 for children aged 1 to 15 years old, with wristbands allowing unlimited rides at the fairground available for £7, which can be purchased on the day.
Children under 1 years old go free and family tickets are available for £29 for a family of four or £35 for a family of five.
