The action comes as local people continued to report concerns regarding criminality and antisocial behaviour yesterday, Thursday September 23.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested yesterday on suspicion of burglary and arson following an incident on Dalcross Court whereby windows were smashed on a property and a shed was set alight.

The boy has since been bailed with conditions.

The area covered by the dispersal order

Chief Inspector Daryll Tomlinson from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Team, said: “This dispersal order is one of a number of tools that we are using to tackle reports of criminality and antisocial behaviour in Hemlington.

"We are also working closely with partners including the local authority and housing providers to solve long-term issues.

“We have targeted activity planned and extra resourcing in the area, including utilising the police drone, to find those responsible and take robust action.

“Where we do identify any youths involved in this type of behaviour then we will ensure that they are spoken to in front of their parents and are dealt with appropriately.

“We continue to appeal for information from the local community and ask them to call us on 101 with any information, or 999 in an emergency.

"There is also our website for reporting information here.

“Those who want to pass on information anonymously can do so by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The dispersal order will be in place from today for the maximum of 48 hours, however, it can be extended where needed.

The order is bound by the A174, B1365 and Stainton Way.
