TWO men were arrested following a brawl during which a man sustained injuries which required hospital treatment.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was assaulted during the fight on Aycliffe Business Park on Saturday night.

The Northern Echo understands the incident happened shortly after a clubbing event at the leisure venue ROF59 had finished.

A spokesperson for Durham Police said: “Police were called at 10.15pm on Saturday to reports of an altercation involving several people on Durham Way South, in Newton Aycliffe.

“A man in his 20s was assaulted during the incident and taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged and is recovering at home. “Two men aged 24 and 25 were arrested in connection with the incident.

“They have been interviewed by officers and released under investigation to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.”
