A FAMILY of Teesside entrepreneurs are continuing to support a range of good causes in the area.

The entrepreneurs have been praised by The Teesside Family Foundation for continuing to fund caravan holidays for those in need.

Cleveland Cable Company and The Keys in Yarm, owned by Alastair Powell and family, are Captain Cook level corporate sponsors of The Teesside Family Foundation.

The Foundation sees both companies pledge a minimum of £10,000 per year.

The family have now pledged this support to The Teesside Family Foundation through these businesses for four years running.

In addition, three years ago, The Powell family paid toward the purchase of a holiday home in Primrose Valley for Teessiders in need of a well-deserved break - and continue to subsidise its upkeep.

Tony Wedlake, Trustee of the charity said: “The Caravan was a dream which came to reality in 2018 mainly thanks to the incredible generosity of Cleveland Caravan sponsors Cleveland Cable Company Ltd and The Keys Yarm.

“Since buying the Caravan at Primrose Valley, both companies meet the yearly costs to ensure every family stays for free and has plenty of toys, books, dvds, buckets, spades.”

“Since 2018 more than 100 families have enjoyed a holiday at the North Yorkshire beauty spot, making countless memories and having endless amounts of fun.

“For the families who are either disadvantaged, have faced personal tragedy or have children with disabilities to receive a holiday like this is simply priceless.

“Amongst the endless amounts of support the Powell give to Teesside people, this has got to be one of the most amazing.”

Through their sponsorship and support over the past four years, The Powell family have also helped fund projects such as a £40,000 new sensory room at Kirkleatham Hall School for children with special educational needs - and many other fantastic projects The Teesside Family Foundation has overseen.

These include supplying tech equipment to schools, purchasing specialist equipment to help children and adults with disabilities lead independent lives, supporting grassroots sports clubs and budding stars on Teesside and helping families facing hardship.
