A PUB is organising a run to celebrate the region's railway connection and to raise money for the North East Air Ambulance.

The Locomotion pub, on Station Road in Eaglescliffe, is organising its second annual Charity Run in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

The run will take place on Sunday, September 26 this year and follows the original route of the Stockton and Darlington Railway - celebrating the region’s railway heritage and engineering history.

The run is being organised by The Locomotion’s Landlord, Jim Taylor, in association with the Orchard Eagles Running Club.

There are two options for runners – a ten-mile race starting and finishing at The Locomotion and a five-mile race starting at Boathouse Lane in Stockton and finishing at the Locomotion.

Both races start at 11am and there are medals for all finishers and trophies for the male and female winners.

For further information and to enter the races, visit: locomotioncharityrun.webstarts.com Mr Taylor is also looking for volunteer race marshals and water station attendants. To get involved contact Mr Taylor on jimtaylor20@yahoo.co.uk.
