A man has been arrested after a vehicle was reportedly stolen from a driveway in Stockton.
The incident was reported to police around 7pm on Wednesday, August 18.
A Vauxhall Mokka collided with a bus stop on Yarm Road and a man made off from the scene.
The vehicle was suspected to be stolen from a property on Yarm Road.
A male was detained by officers on Hartburn Lane a short time later.
A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and he remains in police custody at this time.
Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Stockton CID on 101, quoting incident number 139026.
