A 'MINI' Parade of Nations celebrating cultures from different countries is to take place in a Teesside town next weekend.

The Parade of Nations will be marching its way through Billingham and forms part of "The World in a Weekend" event being staged in the Town from August 13-15.

The event is being organised by the Billingham International Folklore Festival of World Dance and supported Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

The Parade will start at 1pm from Boyes through the West Precinct finishing at the Bandstand.

There will be over 80 performers in total representing Colombia, England, Georgia, India, Ireland, Japan, The Philippines and Scotland.

The parade will be smaller and not on the same scale as previous years due to Covid.

The performers will be greeted by The Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Kevin Faulks.

Each group will perform for a couple of minutes to give the crowds a taster of what to expect over the three days.

Then people will be encouraged to go to the Forum Theatre for 2pm to watch the opening family matinee show "The Magic Bed"

Adults tickets will cost £4 and Children’s tickets will cost £2.

All tickets for across the weekend can be bought from The Forum Theatre box office in person or online - https://forumtheatrebillingham.co.uk.
