AN award-winning comedian is hosting a live comedy night in his Richmond hometown featuring TV star, Lost Voice Guy.

Matt Hoss will host the event which will see Britain's Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy, aka Consett born comedian Lee Ridley, perform at Richmondshire Cricket Club on September 25.

Mr Ridley rose to fame in June 2018 after winning the 12th series of the hit TV show Britain's Got Talent.

Other comedians performing at the Richmond gig are Edy Hurst and Georgie Morrell.

Matt Hoss, an award-winning comedian in his own right, said: "I'm so excited to be returning to my hometown to perform.

"I was meant to be concluding my tour but unfortunately Covid-19 scuppered that plan and it destroyed the performance industry.

"It's an honour to come back from the ashes to bring live comedy back and cheer people up when they need it most.

"With our all-star line-up , I feel like this brand new comedy night will become a staple in the town of Richmond and hopefully the locals will enjoy it as much as I have bringing it all together.

Mr Hoss is the winner of the Eric Barker Award 2015 and runs a chain of vegan comedy clubs, Viva Las Vegans, all around the UK.

He writes and performs for BBC Newcastle’s Grin Up North, whilst writing for the British Stand-Up Comedy Archive.
