A MAN will appear in court charged with criminal damage and dangerous driving weeks after video emerged of a parked car being tossed into the air by a digger on a farm.

Durham Police said a 57-year-old has been reported, but no court date has been set yet following the incident in Teesdale, which went viral last month.

The force said a 20-year-old arrested on suspicion of assault during the same incident on June 5 has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Video emerged of a forked vehicle lifting a silver hatchback which appeared to be blocking a track, then flipping it over.

Durham Police said: “A 57-year-old man has been reported for the offences of criminal damage and dangerous driving.

“A court date has not yet been set.

“A 20-year-old who was interviewed in relation to an assault during the same incident has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.”
