READY to give a rescue pup a forever home? There are hundreds of unwanted dogs searching for a new owner in County Durham and Darlington.

We’ve found some absolute beauties who are ready to become your best friend.

Dogs Trust, Darlington

Atticus

The Northern Echo: Atticus is a busy, bouncy American Bulldog who loves to be kept entertained. He doesn't have many manners which can result in an excessively over enthusiastic play style therefore he is not suitable for a home with children. He loves to be out and about but is very strong, so does need a confident owner and some leadwork.

Boots

The Northern Echo:

Boots is a beautiful older greyhound who is looking for her retirement home. She is a polite girl with the best manners. Company and dogs are the two things she needs in her life - oh as well as toys!

Cinders

The Northern Echo:

Cinders is a sweet greyhound but finds the world a little daunting. She likes the company of other dogs and would love to live with another confident dog who can show her the ropes. Given time with lots of postive interactions and a confidence boost, Cinder's personality will soon blossom.

Felicity

The Northern Echo:

Felicity loves a sofa snooze! She could lie there all day, other than when she is playing with her teddies of course! She loves the quiet calm life and is a delight to have in the home. She travels well in the car and is housetrained. Once she has built up a bond she is very affectionate.

Rupert

The Northern Echo:

Rupert is an exciteable, affectionate boy who is enjoying exploring new surroundings. He is looking for a quieter home without many visitors (and no children), in a quieter area. He will need his time being left alone built up gradually.

Oj

The Northern Echo:

OJ is a handsome one-year-old boy who has a sensitive side and needs patient and understanding owners to show him the world isn't a scary place. He is coming out of his shell daily and showing off his lovely personality.

Teddy

The Northern Echo:

Teddy is a beautiful boy who enjoys a fuss from his carers, but can take a little while to get to know new people. Due to this he will need a quiet home with minimal visitors and no visiting children. He does require an owner very experienced in the care of GSDs and will require management around food in the home as he enjoys his food a little too much.

Stray Aid, Coxhoe

Clint

The Northern Echo:

Clint is a nine-year-old Saluki based at Stray Aid. He is neutured and could possibly live with children and other dogs.

Athur

The Northern Echo:

Athur is looking for a loving home. He is a Lurcher also based at Stray Aid. The eight-year-old is neutured and could possibly live with dogs and children.

Roger

The Northern Echo:

Roger the spaniel cross is up for adoption. The pup is an eight-year-old neutured male looking for a home. He could possible live with children and other dogs.
