A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash.
It happened on Barwick Way, in Ingleby Barwick at about 11.45am.
The road, which was shut for several hours has now reopened.
The collision involved a silver Jaguar and a black Nissan Qashqai and happened between the roundabout at Ingleby Way to Beckfields roundabout.
Emergency services and air ambulance colleagues attended and a woman was taken to hospital with a broken ankle.
Police thanked motorists for their patience while the road was closed.

Police have currently closed Barwick Way between the roundabout at Ingleby Way to Beckfields roundabout due to a two vehicle collision.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
