THOUSANDS of items have seen their prices slashed as Amazon has launched a two-day sale - with deals until Tuesday midnight.

The retailer, which has warehouses in Durham and Darlington, has officially started its event for Prime users.

With more than 2 million deals available and thousands across the UK, the 'Prime Day' event claims to offer 'jaw-dropping' prices.

The retailer has warned those that deals could end up selling out so quickly that customers should check back frequently as stock is replenished.
