BISHOP Auckland MP Dehenna Davison has launched a show on the new TV channel GB News.

Tweeting this morning, she said: "The cat is finally out of the bag! Today, we launched “The Political Correction” on @GBNEWS

"A place to have grown-up, respectful debates about the issues of the week. Will be back next week with @Nigel_Farage and a host of special guests.

"Do tune in and give us your feedback!"

Following her first show, which aired today, she tweeted: "Thank you to everyone for your really positive feedback so far. Am overwhelmed by the number of supportive tweets!"

The network, which launched last Sunday, has promised to take on so-called cancel culture.

GB News has faced accusations it will be broadcasting US-style partisan news shows in the UK, and campaign group Stop Funding Hate challenged advertisers on social media.

Democracy in the UK is being undermined by a “small but vocal minority”, the Culture Secretary said last week after multiple brands pulled advertising from GB News.

Oliver Dowden has warned that basic democratic values can no longer be taken for granted after the upstart channel saw the withdrawal of advertising from companies such as Ikea, cider firm Kopparberg and Octopus Energy.
