THOUSANDS of pounds in cash, drugs and around 20 mobile phones were seized by police in a series of drugs raids.

Hartlepool Neighbourhood Officers raided five properties across the town on Wednesday.

They seized £5,000 worth of cash, class B drugs and around 20 mobile phones believed to be used for drug dealing.

Six men aged between the 20s and 40s were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and under the proceeds or crime act.

The warrants were conducted as part of Operation Endeavour, to tackle serious and organised crime and were executed with colleagues from the National Crime Agency, North East Regional Special Operations Unit, the Dog Unit and the Economic Crime Unit.

The men have been released pending enquiries.
