A SOLDIER has been recognised for his outstanding work overseas.
British Army Warrant Officer Daniel Jones, of the Yorkshire Regiment, received a Commander Field Army Commendation in the Queen's Honour's List.
Commenting on the award, Daniel said: "It's great and it was very unexpected to receive the commendation. It's gratifying to be recognised for what I do."
Daniel, of Darlington, is currently based in Cyrpus as a Regimental quartermaster sergeant.
The 38-year-old also played a key role in the Defence response to Covid-19.
"It was a team effort and to that I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone," he said.
