FIREFIGHTERS carried out a rescue with a difference in County Durham today.
Crews from Middleton-In-Teesdale, Stanhope and Consett rushed to the aid of a stranded sheep in Bollihope this morning.
The unfortunate ewe found itself stuck on a high ledge, requiring firefighters to use an extended ladder to rescue her.
A spokesman for the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said the sheep was unharmed, just a little hungry.
