A MAN is due to appear in court following an alleged robbery.
Police received a report on Monday that a 39-year-old woman had suffered injuries during an alleged attempted robbery in Hartlepool.
It is reported to have happened at about 4.30pm on Easington Road, near the One Stop Shop.
A man was reportedly in possession of a crowbar and asp.
A member of the public in a white vehicle is believed to have stopped to intervene.
The victim suffered minor injuries and did not receive medical treatment.
A 40-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today, Wednesday, June 2.
Police are appealing for witnesses who could assist with the investigation to come forward.
