THE following cases were heard at Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Courts in the last week.

PAUL GORDON BERRIMAN, 43, of Sycamore Court, Spennymoor, filmed a person doing a private act without their consent for his own sexual gratification. He was given an 18-week prison sentence suspended for 24 months. Berriman was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. He also appeared in court accused of flashing his genitals in Durham on March 9, 2021. He indicated a plea of guilt.

ANDREW BOYLE, of Rydale Avenue, Stanley, was given a 26-week prison sentence suspended for 24 months after assaulting a woman on February 1, of last year. The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm and was ordered to pay £500 compensation.

JULIE MAUD BURDESS, 46, breached a restraining order on May 25, 2021. The Treen Crescent, Murton resident, indicated a plea of guilt and was ordered to pay £20 compensation.

JAMES PAUL OGLIVIE, 31, of Grint Close, Coxhoe, beat a man causing actual bodily harm on November 24, 2018. He was given a 26-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and made to pay £500 compensation. He was also ordered to pay £115 to fund victim services.

ANGEL BRANLEY, from Darlington, was caught trespassing on railway lines, near the River Skerne on September 27, of last year. Branley of Easson Road, pleaded guilty and was fined £80. The 25-year-old was also made to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

MICHAEL GEORGE JOHNSON, from Stanley, was caught in possession of a knife in a public place on March 14, 2021. He was given a six month prison sentence. The 42-year-old was also made to pay £128 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

PAVEL SPIK, 46, of no fixed abode, was found guilty of being drunk and disorderly at Darlington Police Station on March 3, 2021. He was discharged conditionally for six months.

HOLLY JOANNE DOBSON, 38, of Poplar Street, Stanley, stole perfume from Asda on August 30, 2020. She changed her plea to guilty and was discharged conditionally for five months. She was also made to pay £59 compensation.

LEAH ALLEN, from Adrian Place, Peterlee, was banned from driving for 17 months and fined £120 after being caught driving whilst over the legal drink limit. The incident took place on May 13, 2021 at Horden. Allen was made to pay £34 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

MICHAEL ALLENBY, 26, was handed a restraining order after he damaged a house window on April 14, of this year. He intended to destroy or damage the property. The Henry Street, Darlington resident, pleaded guilty and was fined £120.

JONATHAN STANLEY ARMSTRONG, 26, of no fixed address, was given a 20-week prison sentence after he threatened to smash the windows at Spennymoor Police Station. The incident took place of May 21, 2021. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.

MARK ANTHONY DOUGHERTY, of Stewart Crescent, Marston, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for being drunk and disorderly in Stanley on April 10, 2021. He was also caught in possession of cocaine. The 34-year-old was fined £120 and made to pay £34 to fund victim services.

CALLUM FARRAGE, 27, of Meadow Court, Tow Law, stole electrical goods from Superdrug on May 9, 2021. He was ordered to pay £160 compensation.

MARK TROTTER, 34, of Oxford Road, Hartlepool, was handed a community order after he assaulted a police officer by beating her on May 4, 2021. Trotter indicated a plea of guilt and was made to pay £50 compensation and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SEAN MICHAEL WALSH, 37, of Sherwood Close, Barnard Castle, was banned from driving for 17 months following an incident on April 10, 2021. He failed to provide a breath analysis without reasonable excuse when suspected of committing a driving offence. He pleaded guilty and was fined £538 and made to pay a £54 victim surcharge. Walsh was also made to pay £85 court costs.

JOSHUA MASSEY, 22, of Branksome Terrace, Darlington, was caught driving whilst over the legal drink drive limit on April 14. He pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £206. Massey was also ordered to pay £34 to fund victim services and £85 court costs.
