POLICE have arrested a man in connection with a house fire in Hartlepool on Tuesday morning.
The man, aged in his 60s, was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and he has since been released on bail with conditions.
Enquiries are ongoing after the fire broke out in a house on York Road and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen anyone behaving suspiciously in the area between 7.45am and 9am on Tuesday, May 18.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant David Donoghue on 101, quoting incident number 079428.
