As Good As It Gets nearly pulled off the result of season last night after taking a shock 3-0 lead against league leaders Mortgage Sheilds Ltd.

Mattey (The Enforcer Sewell) exposed Shields defensive vulnerabilities when he was allowed to hit a sizzling first half hat trick without response. Mortgage Sheilds seemed to be suffering from a Christmas hangover in the first 15 minutes as they let the opposition run riot. As the second half began a shock result looked imminent as the table toppers struggled to breach an incredible show of goalkeeping skills in the Gets' goal mouth. Unfortunately the Gets just could not maintain the pace showed in the first half and were finally undone by a combination of youth and experience. They allowed Mortgage Sheilds to hit back with goals from two players boasting 30 years experience between them (Literally) Andrew Neil aged 16 and Mike Shield aged 46 (or thereabouts). Sensing the oppositions exhaustion, manager Mike Shields came on as a second half substitute together with his younger sibling Chris. Mike hit two goals and Chris scored one. Sam Hollis and Andrew Neil completed the six goal total in what was a fantastic comeback snatching a 6-4 victory from the jaws of defeat. Chris Barker scored AGAIG's consolation in what was a great game for the neutrals.
