A SPECIALIST college is seeking help to make a final push in its fundraising bid to collect £1m for new accommodation.

Henshaws College, Harrogate, is looking for help with its Buy a Brick campaign, which it launched in October.

The college helps students who are visually impaired or have physical disabilities.

The appeal is to allow 22 students to move into newly-built college residential accommodation.

College principal Caroline Smale said: "The Buy a Brick appeal has come a long way, but we are now seeking help with the final, and vital, push.

"We are optimistic that local communities and businesses will rally round and help drive our appeal to its million-pound milestone, so we can provide our students with the facilities that they need."

Henshaws College offers a wide-ranging curriculum, which includes living skills, IT literacy and sports and fitness.

A full range of specialist staff also offer services including physiotherapy and speech and language therapy.

College students recently held a masked Christmas ball, at which Nick Moxon and Stacey Kimberley were crowned king and queen of the ball.
