THE Government said a further 11 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 127,640.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Wednesday, there had been a further 2,284 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,441,975.

NHS England data shows a total of 5,640,926 jabs were given to people in London between December 8 and May 11, including 3,777,399 first doses and 1,863,527 second doses.

The breakdown for the North East and Yorkshire: 4,696,299 first and 2,492,775 second doses (7,189,074)

A total of 45,359,338 Covid-19 vaccinations took place in England between December 8 and May 11, according to NHS England data, including first and second doses, which is a rise of 407,430 on the previous day.

NHS England said 29,826,179 were the first dose of a vaccine, a rise of 98,515 on the previous day, while 15,533,159 were a second dose, an increase of 308,915.

There were a further 91 confirmed cases of Covid in the region in the last 24 hours.
