POLICE forensics officers were combing a site last night after the grim discovery of a woman's body.

Officers were called to the scene in Bradford, West Yorkshire, at around 9.20am yesterday following reports of a concern for safety. 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the body of a female was found in the Myra Shay area of Barkerend and enquiries into the exact circumstances remain ongoing. 

The body was discovered on footpath near Bradford Moor Golf Club, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to unconfirmed reports the woman had suffered horrific burns.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said a cordon remains in place and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
