SHOCKING footage has been released of an attack on two brothers at York station.
The video has been released after two men were sentenced after pleading guilty to assaulting two brothers at York station, following a British Transport Police investigation.
Danny Furniss, 34, of Vernon Rise, Grassmoor, Derbyshire, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and was jailed for 16 weeks.
Jordan Heath, 27, of Shakespeare Street, Holmewood, Derbyshire, admitted one count of assault and received a 16 week suspended sentence and was ordered to complete 200 hours unpaid work.
Both were sentenced at York Magistrates Court on Monday, April 19.
The court heard how on Friday, December 11 last year, a verbal altercation took place between the four before the brothers walked off.
Furniss and Heath ran after the brothers with Heath rugby tackling one to the ground and punching him twice in the head while Furniss punched the other victim in the head several times, with one punch taking him to the ground. While on the ground, Furniss slapped and punched him several more times before walking over to his brother and punching him.
Investigating officer PC Chris Smith said: “This could have ended very differently if Furniss and Heath had not gone after the brothers and had instead gone about their business of returning home after a day out in York. Furniss would not be sitting in a cell and Heath would not have a criminal record tarnishing his reputation.
