A MAN has been charged with the murder of a County Durham man at the weekend.
Robert Askew, of Wood View, Esh Winning, was arrested on Saturday after officers and paramedics found David Teague having suffered fatal injuries inside Askew’s home.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 33-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Askew was charged on Tuesday with murder, false imprisonment, and assault.
The 34-year-old will appear in court on Wednesday morning.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Five other individuals who were also arrested on Saturday have been released with no further action. Mr Teague’s family are being supported by police, and we would like to offer our sincere condolences at this difficult time."
