A BRANCH of the Post Office is set to move to a service station and will open next month.

The branch in Broughton Avenue, in Middlesbrough, which closed in 2020, is moving about 600m to the Shell Tudor Lodge service station in Marton Road.

The Post Office plans to open it on Thursday, May 27 at 1pm and the opening hours will be Monday to Sunday from 8am to 8pm.

The premises will undergo a refurbishment.

Gail Burnett, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring a full-time Post Office to Broughton Avenue, as we know how important Post Office services are to a community.”

The previous branch closed when the shop it was in closed down.

A Post Office spokesperson says it has agreed to go ahead with the move but is welcoming feedback, which should be submitted by Wednesday, May 19.

It can be submitted online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 262327.

Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
