SIX people have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of Tomasz Dembler.

The 39-year-old's body was found and recovered from woodland near to Flatts Lane Country Park in Normanby, Middlesbrough, on Monday, April 12.

Mr Dembler lived in the UK for the last 20 years, most recently in the Middlesbrough area, and before that in Darlington.

He was a father-of-one, with family in Poland and parts of the UK.

Detectives have established that he could have been killed at some point from mid-March up until his body was discovered by two members of the public.

Judge Paul Watson QC, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, remanded all six defendants in custody until their next appearance at Teesside Crown Court on May 24.

He said: "For the time being each of you will be remanded in custody up until a time when bail applications can be made."

The six people charged with murder in the case are: Krysztof Ziolkowski, aged 46, of Spring Bank, Kingston Upon Hull; Martin Chielewski, 27, of Marton Road, Middlesbrough; Adam Czerwinski, aged 44, of Edward St, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough; Rafael Chmielewski, 36, of Birchington Avenue, Middlesbrough; Monika Slawomira Solerska, 36, of Birchington Avenue, Middlesbrough and Tomasz Marek Reczycki, 37, of Ashfield Avenue, Middlesbrough.

A trial has been listed to take place over six weeks from January 11 next year.
