THE Government said a further 11 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 127,428.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 151,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government also said that, as of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 1,712 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

It brings the total to 4,404,882.

A total of 38,792,402 Covid-19 vaccinations took place in England between December 8 and April 24, according to NHS England data, including first and second doses, which is a rise of 602,866 on the previous day.

NHS England said 28,227,710 were the first dose of a vaccine, a rise of 124,858 on the previous day, while 10,564,692 were a second dose, an increase of 478,008.

NHS England data shows a total of 6,195,201 jabs were given to people in the North East and Yorkshire between December 8 and April 24, including 4,472,668 first doses and 1,722,533 second doses.

Over the weekend, in the North-East and North Yorkshire there have been a further 204 cases of Covid-19 reported to authorities.
