SIX people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in a County Durham village.
Police are appealing for information following an incident which resulted in the man’s death in Esh Winning, near Durham, on Saturday.
A report was received of a disturbance at an address in Wood View, off Newhouse Road, in the former mining village, at 4.40pm.
Police officers and paramedics attended the property and found a man in his thirties suffering from significant injuries.
Investigations were continuing at the crime scene, off Newhouse Road, this afternoon.
A Durham Police statement today stated: “Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The Great North Air Ambulance was also summoned to the scene, shortly after 4.45pm.
All six people who were subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder remained in police custody today.
