THE owner of a village pub has secured a contract to cater for Richmondshire Cricket Club.
Dean Hodgson, who along with wife Vic runs The White Swan at Gilling West, has now opened for business at the cricket club, serving a range of burgers and street food, called Hoodoo
Mr Hodgson said: "During lockdown, we were serving takeaways from The White Swan and found that our burger menu was extremely popular.
"I heard the committee at the cricket club was looking for a new caterer, and we were ready for a new challenge. I gave them an outline of what I wanted to do, giving a takeaway-only, street food offering.
"We have used a shipping container to create our space inside the clubhouse and it looks great."
Mr and Mrs Hodgson will continue to run The White Swan.
Following a soft launch, there will be an official launch on Friday, April 23. With opening Fridays from 5pm to 9pm and Saturdays 1pm to 9pm.
