A NEW leaflet featuring unknown walks around Richmond has been launched.
It will lead visitors and residents to new vantage points from which they can see the town’s castle – as well as learn more about its Norman origins.
‘Castle Walks’, which has been produced by the Richmondshire Ramblers to coincide with the Richmond950 celebrations this year, has been supported by the District Council with a £600 grant.
Richmond Ramblers secretary and project lead, Janet Milburn, said: “We hope this new leaflet will encourage local people to explore the town more and see the castle from one of our four suggested vantage points.
“And when restrictions allow visitors back into the district we are ready to point them in the same direction.
"We want to enhance Richmond as a tourist destination as well as a place for educational visits – this new leaflet is ideal for secondary students on a field trip.”
It is available from the Richmond Information Centre,
