CLOCKS are set to go forward this weekend as British Summer Time begins.

It's time once again to work out whether your phone, smartwatch or digital clock automatically changes as time goes forward this Sunday, March 28.

In the UK, the clocks go forward one hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and back 1 hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October.

This weekend's change marks the start of British Summer Time (BST). There’s more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings, which is why BST is sometimes called Daylight Saving Time.

Brighter days come just in time for Easter weekend, with two bank holidays allowing people to enjoy the extra daylight.

After a year in and out of lockdown with many of you working from home, bright evenings can play a big part in beating the blues.

It does, however, mean you lose one hour of sleep that night.

This Sunday also marks the "Worm Moon", where the Moon will appear bigger and brighter in the sky as it is closer to Earth than normal.

The Worm Moon is dubbed "the true sign of spring" as worms pop up in the soil around this time, and this year Daylight Saving Time falls on the same day meaning clocks go forward.

When the clocks go back, the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
