A CRUISE line has unveiled dozens of brand new sailings from Newcastle - with tickets for departures available now.

Fred Olsen, which operates out of the Port of Tyne in North Shields, has announced its programme of cruises following disruption caused by the Covid pandemic.

In addition to sailings later this year, the cruise line has announced 21 new sailings between Newcastle and majestic locations such as the Fjords and Iceland in 2022.

Offering cruise goers the chance to see the Northern Lights or visits to places including Oslo and Copenhagen, the firm is doing between five and 16-day cruises starting March.

In line with the emerging demand for UK-only cruises, Fred Olsen is also set to operate sailings between Newcastle and the British Isles.

Boasting that passengers will be treated to a 'new look' fleet, Fred Olsen has said the new programme will coincide with the addition of two ships.

The Borealis and Bolette has joined the line's existing ships, Balmoral and Braemar - which are regularly seen navigating the River Tyne.

Announcing the new programme, Martin Lister, head of itinerary planning and destination experience at Fred Olsen, said: "We are always incredibly proud to unveil our new cruise programmes but this year it feels particularly exciting as it is the first time we will do so with our new look fleet.

“Every year we craft our new itineraries from scratch to ensure that we continue to offer our guests exceptional experiences in the destinations they visit with us.

"This has felt even more important this year, with the past twelve months having left us all dreaming of our next adventures and really considering what we all want from our holidays."
