THE Northern Camera Club has more than 2,000 members and we regularly feature their pictures both in paper and online.
But we thought it would be good to find out more about the people who make up the club. If you are a member of the and want to be part of the our Behind the Lens feature email sarah.caldecott@nne.co.uk
This week we meet camera club member Glen Neilson, from County Durham.
Who or what inspired you to take up photography?
After being involved as mission photographer on submarines for ten years, I’ve always had an interest in quality unique shots.
What was your first camera?
First camera was the Polaroid instant and also my last proper camera outside the military.
What’s your go-to kit at the moment?
Iphone7 plus and a Dji Mavic 2 Pro Zoom drone.
Is there anything in particular you enjoy photographing most, and why?
My favourite type of photos are either food, as love it, and travel.
Favourite photo?
My favourite photo I’ve ever taken is the photo of my wife and I on a private island in the Indian Ocean Maldives, maybe because it was just perfect swimming with sharks and manta rays.
