A FAMILY-run tailors based in Catterick Garrison were honoured this month to be given the opportunity to tailor a number of military uniforms for the funeral of Sir Captain Tom Moore, taking place today.

Eastern Direct Tailors have been approached by units across the region – with whom they have established positive working relationships as existing providers for – to work on a number of uniforms for this occasion was truly an honour for the directors of the business, Mr and Mrs Younis, Mr and Mrs Bhatti.

The said: "We are extremely proud to have tailored uniforms for the funeral of Sir Captain Tom Moore who was a truly remarkable man inspiring so many during such a difficult time for people across the world."

The family run tailors, established in 1990, have been operating national contracts across the UK for over 20 years and are now the Approved Military Tailoring Contractors for the North Region. They provide high quality tailoring services for both military personnel and civilians, with customers from the Army, RAF, Police and local community.

As key tailoring providers for the Army Foundation College Harrogate they previously had some of their work seen by the late Captain Sir Tom in the last Harrogate pass out parade. But no project has been quite as special, or such an honour, as this one.

They added: "As a company we have tailored uniforms for hundreds of military events including the largest parades in Europe, but this is a truly special event that we are privileged to be associated with."
