A POLICE car was set on fire by vandals in Easington last night.
The vehicle, which was parked outside Easington Police Station, on Glebe Terrace, was so badly damaged it has had to be taken out of service.
The incident took place at about 7pm on Friday evening.
A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: “It is extremely disappointing that a police vehicle has been targeted in this way.
“These actions mean there is now one less vehicle available to our officers.
“We are appealing for anyone who might have seen something to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 398 of February 19.
