THREE teenagers have been arrested after a car was used to ram into shop fronts in Middlesbrough.

At around 01.25am this morning, police received two reports of attempted burglaries at Sainsbury’s on Acklam Road and Go Local Store on Cumberland Road.

It was reported that a Vauxhall Corsa had rammed into the shutters of both premises.

Soon after, officers from Middlesbrough Response arrested an 18-year-old man and 15-year-old boy in connection with the incidents.

One of them was arrested after being found hiding in a garden on Middleton Avenue and the other male was located nearby.

A third man aged 18 was arrested later this morning in connection with the incidents.

All three currently remain in custody.
