THE holiday operator Jet2 has extended its suspension of flights and holidays following "ongoing uncertainty" as a result of the Covid pandemic.
Flights operating from the North-East are among those that will remain suspended up until April 14, 2021 at the earliest.
In a statement posted last night, the operator said it would be automatically cancelling affected bookings with customers eligible for a full refund.
A spokesperson said: "Due to the ongoing uncertainty and travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the decision to extend the suspension of flights and holidays up to and including 14th April 2021.
"Where customers yet to travel are affected by any programme changes, our industry-leading and prompt refunding of over £1bn has been widely praised, and we will continue to automatically cancel affected bookings with a full refund."
Jet2 said customers that are due to travel from April 15 will continue to receive further updates closer to their departure date.
The spokesperson said: "We would like to thank our valued customers for their patience and understanding."
