A ROUTINE stop and search led to the seizure of weapons and drugs by police officers in Billingham.
At around 7.15pm on Wednesday evening, Stockton Neighbourhood Officers saw a vehicle that appeared to be speeding in Billingham.
Officers stopped and searched the vehicle and seized class A drugs and cash. The 29-year-old male driver was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
In connection with the arrest, officers then searched a property on Wollaton Road in Billingham where suspected class A drugs, drugs paraphernalia, an air weapon and three samurai swords were seized from the address.
A woman aged 29 was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Both the man and woman have been released pending further enquiries.
