POLICE have arrested two people in connection with drugs offences after a warrant was executed at a property on Selbourne Street, Middlesbrough, yesterday evening (Wednesday).

A man and woman, both aged 36, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, class B drugs and class C drugs.

Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team, alongside Police Dog Arthur, seized suspected methadone, cannabis and prescription medication from the property along with weapons (pictured).

Sergeant John Sproson, from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Police carried out this warrant as a result of information from the local community, who had concerns around suspected drugs activity and the associated antisocial behaviour. We will be working with partners to address these issues in the longer term.

“We are continuing to target criminals over the festive period and will not tolerate people making a misery for others in our local communities by committing crime and dealing drugs.”

Anyone with information regarding drugs activity in their local area is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
