POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man, aged in his late forties, was assaulted on the Railway Line path which runs parallel to Hutton Lane in Guisborough.

The alleged incident took place on Friday (December 18) at around 12.10pm. 

The victim was punched multiple times in the face, pulled to the floor and kicked in the head, leaving him with facial injuries.

Two members of the public are believed to have offered assistance to the victim following the incident, and officers would like to ask those people to come forward as they may have information which could assist the investigation.
