A WOMAN who beat her former partner has narrowly avoided by sent to prison.
Rachael Bidwell left her victim needing ten stitches after she punched her in the face as they argued in the street.
Teesside Crown Court heard how the 36-year-old had attacked her victim on a regular basis throughout their two year relationship but things came to a head in September.
Nigel Soppitt, prosecuting, said the victim had been left emotionally damaged by the violent relationship.
Bidwell, of Crowland Avenue, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to assault.
Simon Walker, in mitigation, said his client had suffered head injuries as a child.
Judge Jonathan Carroll sentenced the defendant to six months in custody, suspended for two years.
