POLICE are investigating after a fight broke out in a supermarket just after 11am on Remembrance Sunday.
It was reported that the fight, which involved a man and three women, broke out in the egg aisle at the Tesco in Trunk Road, South Bank as shoppers fell silent.
Officers recieved a report of an "altercation" at the shop at 11.07am yesterday and confirmed allegations of an assault had been made.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Following a verbal altercation, reportedly involving a man and woman and another two women, a man allegedly assaulted the two women.
"A crime report has been made and enquiries are ongoing. There are no arrests at this stage."
A number of eggs were smashed in the incident, it was reported.
