OFFICERS have been distributing posters as their search for missing man Wayne Newton continues.

The 41-year-old was last seen on Saturday, October 24, at around 1pm, in the area of Hemlington’s Viewley Centre.

Specialist officers have been carrying out searches this week, including in the area surrounding Hemlington Lake,

Mr Newton was last seen wearing: grey jeans, white trainers and a dark hooded top with the word ‘Polo’, written in white on the back.

He is described as a white, medium build and around 6 foot tall. He has short, brown hair and blue eyes.

Temporary Detective Sergeant Jonny Christie described the disappearance as "out of character".

He said: “We’re grateful to those members of the public who have already contacted our team to share information but we continue to appeal for sightings. We hope that the posters officers are distributing may just jog someone’s memory and provide us with new information as we work to locate Wayne."

“We also continue to appeal to local shops, or to private individuals with CCTV or dashcam, that they check the footage for Wayne and share it with us.”

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, reference 176252.
