A DRUG dealer who was peddling cocaine and ketamine has been jailed for more than two years.

John Wilkinson, in mitigation, said his client had been full and frank in his police interview.

He added: "He is a 26-year-old man who lives on his own, it's right that he has a long term partner and they are expecting a child with is due in the middle of next year.

"He has worked for a car leasing company within its maintenance department, that came to an end last month due to the current health situation.

"He was a user of cocaine and some of this would have been for how own use.

"He is clearly a low level dealer, the cocaine he had was just enough for 13 deals."

Judge Jonathan Carroll told Cummins that a custodial sentence was unavoidable and warned him he would likely miss the birth of his first child.

He said: "You have turned your world upside down and you will likely miss the birth of your child.

"You have thrown away what seems to me to be a good young life with potential.

"You are just on the edge of drugs and you have turned your world upside down but you are hopefully, young enough to turn that around."

Cummins was jailed for 28 months for possession with intent to supply cocaine, he was also given a 12 month concurrent sentence for the ketamine charge and no additional penalty for the possession of the ecstasy.

Judge Carroll added: "You will serve half of your sentence before you will be eligible for release."
