DETECTIVES investigating an attempted robbery have released an image of a man they would like to speak to.

The attempted robbery is alleged to have happened at a shop in Stockton on the evening of Thursday, October 8.

Staff at A&A Johnson on Bishopton Road reported being threatened by a man who was armed with a knife and who demanded money.

They raised the alarm and he fled empty handed, along with a woman who’s described as of slim build.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "The man we’d like to speak to (pictured) has a distinctive tattoo on his forearm and we would ask anyone with information to contact Stockton CID via the 101 number, quoting Ref 165420.
