EMPIRE Cinemas, with cinemas in Catterick and Sunderland, will be open every day this October half term, offering a line-up of family films and Halloween scares.

This week, Empire Cinemas will be screening films including Dennis And Gnasher Unleashed! On The Big Screen, sci-fi thriller Max Winslow And The House Of Secrets and The Secret Garden, starring Colin Firth.

The brand new Two By Two: Overboard will also come to screens.

A number of all-time favourite Halloween classics are also being brought back, from Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and The Evil Dead (1981) to Exorcist (Director’s Cut) and The Shining (2019 re-release) - with £5 tickets.

New Covid measures in the chain include a one-way system, reduced capacity and amended film screening times to help reduce the number of customers entering or leaving at the same time.

Face coverings are also mandatory for all unless eating and drinking, and only contactless payments are accepted.

Due to the changing Covid guidelines and film release schedule, cinema-goers are being urged to check their local branch for any changes to opening days.
