A PEDESTRIAN who died after he was hit by a car at the weekend has been named.
Anthony James Houghton, 33, who lived in the Blyth area of Northumberland, died following the collision on the A189 southbound between Bedlington station and Bebside at around 8pm on Saturday.
Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Specially trained officers are currently supporting his family.
Inquiries into the collision are ongoing with officers appealing for any witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage, to come forward.
A 30-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has since been released under investigation.
