AN interactive map which shows how the Covid-19 infection rate in the North-East compares with the rest of the UK has been unveiled.
The map, which is based on Public Health England data, shows how many new Covid cases have been reported in the last seven days.
It also compares the Covid case rate by each council area with the UK average, showing exactly what the picture is like in your area in comparison.
The map splits the country up by Middle Super Output Area (MSOA), which are small areas with an average population of 7,200.
It is different to what has been previously rolled out by Public Health England as it now shows the rolling Covid-19 infection rate.
It also shows what areas have seen a downward trend in the number of new cases in the last seven days, compared with the week previous.
